YAKA - Cherry Packing and Sorting is one of the most modern Cherry Packing Facilities in Europe, dedicated to food safety and quality.
Precautions defined in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Benchmarking Requirements are being strictly followed.
MEASURES
Before the season start:
The whole facility is being disinfected.
The staff undergoes medical screening.
All employees attend a Food Safety and a First Aid seminar.
During process:
Body temperature measuring and health status screening (e.g. fever, cough) is implemented and recorded on a daily basis before commencing shifts.
Single use sterilized gloves, face masks, protective clothing and plastic boots, appropriate for the Food Industry, are provided and required throughout the whole process area to avoid contamination.
All areas of the facility are being sanitized on daily basis.
The water used for processing the cherries is collected from the
potable community water supply.
Farm and Fruit:
Food safety and contamination seminars.
Pruning seminars.
Early soil controls for the use of the proper fertilizers.
Pre-harvest product controls for the use of pesticides, according to our client’s regulations.
Daily monitoring of the cherry harvest from our agronomists.
